Non-Surgical Weight Loss Program

The Basics: Inova Bariatric’s Non Surgical Weight Loss Program is an 8 week program that involves meal replacements and grocery store food. Each week of the program you will meet with a Registered Dietitian to learn healthy eating habits, basic nutrition education and develop your own individualized meal plan based on your calorie needs. Periodically throughout the program you will meet with a personal trainer to assess physical ability and develop a personalized exercise plan. Additionally, you will be medically monitored to ensure your health while on the very low calorie diet. We recommend following up every 2-3 weeks after the 8 week program to ensure compliance and results!

Meal Replacements: The meal replacement our program uses is called Bariatric Advantage. Bariatric Advantage is specially formulated to be nutritionally complete and meet 100% of the Daily Value for 24 vitamins and minerals in six servings per day. The products of Bariatric Advantage are made under the highest quality standards in today’s food industry. You will be provided with a variety of flavors of: protein drinks, protein bars and a high protein soup mix. Bariatric Advantage is not sold in grocery stores or vitamin shops and is only available through participating doctor’s offices. During the duration of the program, you will purchase Bariatric Advantage through Inova Bariatrics.

How much weight can I expect to lose? During the 8 week program you can expect to lose 2-5 pounds per week. Your weight loss will vary beyond the first 8 weeks based on how much weight you need to lose and your maintenance calorie level. With education and support from our Dietitians on how to live a healthier lifestyle and regular follow-up your weight loss can continue until you reach a healthy body weight.

Time Commitment: The initial consult will be about 60 minutes and each weekly follow-up visit will be a minimum of 30 minutes. These consults are mandatory so you must be able to come during our office hours, which are 9am – 5pm, Monday –Friday. Additionally, there will be light homework required each week, such as food logs and other at home activities.
